1972 - C.J. "Mac" McElroy changed the name to Safari Club International
and moved it to its current headquarters in Tucson, Arizona.
1973 - Our Chapter Founder had the only
commercial booth at the first SCI Convention in Las Vegas
1974 - Northwest Chapter
of SCI was founded starting with only ten members. Our chapter founder also helped to start the Sportsmen for Conservation Fund,
a nonprofit, tax-exempt.
The Northwest Chapter was the first chapter formed in WA, OR and ID; hence
the name NW Chapter. Today there are currently 10 SCI Chapters in WA & OR.
