The Northwest Chapter of Safari Club International is a local group of hunters dedicated to protecting the right to hunt and promoting wildlife conservation worldwide.

We are a member based organization and get together several times a year. Sometimes just to socialize, other times to volunteer and once a year to raise money for conservation projects in the local communities. Attending one of Northwest Chapter's events is a great way to meet other hunters with like interests.

The mission of the Northwest Chapter of Safari Club International is broken down into four key focuses. The Northwest Chapter works with its members, peer chapters and SCI National to advocate, connect, educate and represent hunters.

ADVOCATE: Since 2000, Safari Club International as a whole has spent $140 million on protecting the freedom to hunt through policy advocacy, litigation and education for federal and state legislators to ensure hunting is protected for future generations.

CONNECT: When you become a member of Safari Club International, you join a network of 50,000 like-minded individuals all over the world. In your local community you connect with over 400 members of the Northwest Chapter alone.

EDUCATE: Through SCI National's publications, SAFARI Magazine, Safari Times newspaper and Hunter Pride e-newsletter, we keep you up to date on events and board actions, news and stories about other members’ hunting expeditions at a national level. The Northwest Chapter compliments those with quarterly newsletters, social media and web pages focused on local issues and experiences.

REPRESENT: In addition to practicing ethical hunting while in the field and around others, SCI members give back by participating in conservation and humanitarian efforts taking place across the globe.

 

As hunters we know that hunting is under constant attack by anti-hunters who introduce legislation and use the courts to stop hunting. The Northwest Chapter of Safari Club International Works with SCI national who employs staff, contractors and volunteers in a team effort to fight for hunting. SCI national operates in the U.S. Congress, in the state legislatures and wildlife commissions with money raised by the Northwest and all other Safari Club International local chapters.

The SCI Departments of Legal Advocacy Resources and International Affairs and Government Relations are headquartered in Washington, D.C., advocating on behalf of SCI members and non-members alike. From staff dedicated to legislation and policy to a team of litigators, SCI hunter advocacy is at the forefront of protecting the hunting heritage.
